The Minot High girls swim team will be aiming for a 7th straight state title this weekend in Grand Forks. The team is coming off of a disappointing runnerup finish at the west region meet last week. This year's state meet could be one of the most balanced in years with as many as four teams to be battling for top honors. Jake Solper, MHS girls swim coach:We know that Williston is gonna come on strong again. Century's really gonna be a big factor at the meet also and then West Fargo took that top spot at the EDC so it's gonna be kind of a four way for some of those top spots up there. I think just the girls focus and determination is really stepped up a few levels between last weekend and this weekend and I know that we're gonna be able to see some really amazing things from our girls this weekend. Jerrica Kelly, senior:I think we really got refocused and fired up again for state and I think we're all ready to get our best times at state. Dagny Knutson, senior:We were disappointed after WDA but the last three days we've had team meetings and just try to figure out how we're not gonna change things but adjust things for this weekend so we can be at our ultimate best.
