The home for the Air Force's new Global Strike Command will be in Louisiana at Barksdale Air Force Base. Air Force leaders created the new Strike Command to better manage the nation's nuclear arsenal after several missteps in the handling and oversight of nuclear weapons. The command is expected to create about 900 jobs. Minot Chamber of Commerce President John MacMartin says it's disappointing that Minot's base wasn't chosen for the Command considering that it already has two missions dealing with nuclear weapons. (John MacMartin, Minot Chamber of Commerce President) We'll continue to do our work we're very optimistic. We've got the second squadron coming, that's 900 people that's very good.
