The first of three Alberta Clipper Systems will be moving through the area today, bringing with it a little bit of light snow, and mild temperatures. The first round of light snow will fall just in time for your morning commute, wrapping up around the noon hour. Skies will become partly sunny for most of the afternoon, but then another round of light snow will develop around 5 p.m. (just in time for your evening commute), and lasting to about 9 p.m. Snowfall totals will range between a half an inch to an inch throughout the area. It's not a whole lot, but it may make the commutes today a little slick, so take it easy on the roads. Clipper #2 comes through Thursday night/Friday morning, again warming us up to the 30s before a cold front moves through Friday evening. The track for this system is a little farther north than the first, so the light snow associated with this Clipper should stay in northern MN.  « Less
