Feb. 10 (Bloomberg) -- On May 19, 2011, Rupert Murdoch hosted a dinner party to hash out once and for all how to handle the phone-hacking scandal that had been hanging over the company for months and was suddenly spinning out of control. Murdoch chose that evening to stick to a London-based containment strategy, with News Corp.'s U.K. head Rebekah Brooks supervising it.
