Metro is one step closer to having a new radio system and one they say will do a better job of keeping officers safe. News 3's Marissa Mike learned it's going to cost tens of millions of dollars. This upgrade is really to fix a multi-million dollar mistake. That "multi-million dollar mistake" was certainly brought up today as metro's fiscal affairs committee, the group that oversees metro's finances, tried to ensure metro does not find itself making the same mistake twice. Metro wants a new radio system because they say the current one puts officers' safety at risk, and hasn't worked right since it was installed. The new system, costs $26 million.  « Less
