Did you know that the winner of the Super Bowl can predict the direction of the stock market and it’s been 80 percent right since 1967? That’s right --- the stock market has gone up every time a team from the old NFL has won since 1967, at least 80 percent of the time. This prediction is called the Super Bowl Indicator. The Super Bowl Indicator infers that a Super Bowl win for a team from the old AFL (AFC division) will foretell a decline in the stock market for the coming year, and a win for a team from the old NFL (NFC division) means the stock market will be up for the present year. Based on these statistics, this might mean promising news for the stock market in 2013, because both the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers were members of the old National Football League. We say might, because well – with all predictive analytics and especially the stock market, 80 percent isn’t a sure bet.
