"HomeGrown Saturdays" -- that's the name of a series of events taking place all summer in Manistee. Each "HomeGrown Saturday" will build on Manistee's weekly Farmer's Market by adding live music and arts and crafts vendors to downtown Manistee. The goal of the events, which will take place on the second Saturday of each month until September, is to increase excitement, bring people downtown and celebrate the Manistee community. The "HomeGrown Saturdays" series kicks off on Saturday, June 13. The August and September "HomeGrown Saturdays" coincide with Manistee's Sidewalk Sales and Port City Street Fair; organizers believe that sharing weekends with other events will be beneficial to everyone involved.
