A local visitor's bureau was recently voted as the best in Michigan by a statewide magazine. The Traverse City Convention and Visitor's Bureau won the "Best of 2009" award from "Michigan Meetings and Events Magazine." Each year, the magazine's readership of over 20,000 convention planners vote for the best Visitor's Bureau, and this year, Traverse City's came in at the top of the list. The Visitor's Bureau wasn't the only organization in Traverse City that received top honors from the magazine this year; the Village at Grand Traverse Commons received the "editor's pick" for Best New Attraction and the Great Wolf Lodge was awarded "Best New Venue" for its new conference center.
