Northwestern Michigan College's 54th annual Barbeque takes place on Sunday the 17th, and thanks to the work of a few different groups in our area, the event will be easily accessible to everyone -- even senior citizens who may have to stay home. Any senior citizen who is homebound and lives within five miles of the Traverse City city limits can receive a barbeque meal by delivery. The service is being provided by the combined efforts of the Commission on Aging, the Traverse City Police Department and numerous volunteers. Tickets for the meal cost $5 and must be purchased in advance through the commission on aging; for those who have ordered meals, they'll be delivered between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm on May 17.  « Less
