A local school district is preparing to hold an annual robotics competition... using Legos. The Wexford-Missaukee Intermediate School District's fourth annual Lego Robotics Competition will take place in May. The competition is a collaborative program with the Manistee-Wexford-Missaukee Regional Mathematics and Science Center. Over the next two months, students from seven local school districts will be working on Lego robots for the competition. Lego robotics kits are being used by fifth through eighth grade students at the school districts; students are gaining experience in both math and science while working with the program. After working with their Lego robots for approximately two months, students will wrap up the program with a competition at the Intermediate School District's General Education Building; that competition will be held on May 8.  « Less
