A group of Traverse City area students are working together with local professionals as they prepare for an upcoming competition. Students from the Traverse City Area Public Schools' SCI-MA-TECH program are in the process of building what the school district is calling "a state of the art robot," which will compete against robots built by other Michigan high schools in a "sport of the mind" competition. Local professionals in the engineering, software, automotive and construction industries are helping to direct the students as the build their robot; with this direction the students hope to progress past the state "sport of the mind" event and reach the national competition.
