A local hospital has a new patient tracking system in their emergency room, and they're hoping the new system will help save lives. Mercy Hospital in Cadillac recently launched FirstNet, an electronic patient tracking system designed to increase the efficiency of patient flow through the Emergency Department. The system allows staff to track patients and view their charts from any location. According to the hospital, these electronic medical records save time, eliminate redundancy and ensure accurate and consistent delivery of care. The new system allows quick registration for any patient entering the emergency room; this speedy registration will help to reduce delays in treatment. Theresa Hansen, the Director of the hospital's Emergency Department, said that the new system is "a very exciting step" for local healthcare. « Less
