25 years after the end of a brutal dictatorship, Argentina is having difficulty closing this chapter in its history known as the "dirty war (1976-83). Today, almost 1150 people (civilians and security forces) stand accused of participation in the dictatorship. In an affront to their victims, fewer than 40% of those accused are being tried, according to the Center for Legal and Social Studies in Buenos Aires. An estimated 30,000 people disappeared during the dictatorship. « Less
