From hip-hop... to classical... There are so many different genres of music in the world... and we may not all agree on a favorite. (Preston Schmidt/Bluegrass Musician)My favorite part of bluegrass is just playin' and listenin'. I love listenin' to music. I could sit down and listen to music all day long. But he might be tempted... to pick along. For some, Bluegrass might be a passion or hobby you've been working on or enjoying for years. It's been Greg's passion for more than 34 years...for Preston it hasn't been quite so long. They're hoping others can enjoy as much as they do. GregIt's really important to know the musics going to grow and it's going to last. Prestonthere is music out there besids rock'n roll and what most kids are used to listening to that there is acoustic music out there that is really fun and if you think about it..it's complicated and you have to work at it and it's something that you can enjoy doing. But he says it's about more than the muscian... It takes both the muscian and the audience to make for the good concert or the good festival so it's a big collective connection which is great..we enjoy that. There's no drums... No cords... No instruments which plug in... but rather a sweet simplicity. GregIt's just the four of us playin' the acoustic sound. Prestonreally theres a whole nother realm to this type music. You have to think about these things and bringing this stuff bacK I hope is really beneficial to them.
