Many people need an outlet when it comes to dealing with stress. There's a group of women who say yoga makes them feel better, every day. andamp;quot;I really wanted to improve my ability to ride my horse I wanted better balance and better body awareness.andamp;quot; says Julie Roswick/Yoga Instructor. No matter what got them started in yoga, the women taking this class have all seen similar results. More flexibility... andamp;quot;Being able to look behind you when looking for parking space, day to day common things...andamp;quot; says Roswick. More strength... andamp;quot;Gardening and cross country skiing, I don't get as stiff.andamp;quot; says Barb Livermont. And more balance and body control. andamp;quot; When you start in yoga some poses seem simple, more you learn, feet, head all have to be just right, the challenge is fun.andamp;quot; The challenge for some might be to clear up yoga misconceptions. Yoga instructor Julie Roswick says don't let terms like andamp;quot;downward dogandamp;quot; scare you. It's a zero impact activity that anyone of all ages and sizes can do. andamp;quot;People think they have to be flexible before they start, but no matter where you are in shape or out of shape, you can start and see improvement.andamp;quot; says Roswick. andamp;quot;I see ladies in their 80s doing this and they're an inspiration, it's a lifelong activity that serves us well.andamp;quot; says Livermont. And, maybe most importantly, it's fun! Instructors say a lot of women show up for yoga for the camaraderie as much as the workout. andamp;quot;Sometimes I have to say, okay, we're going to start now!andamp;quot; says Roswick. But whether it's for fun, or to help with health problems... andamp;quot; It's a real inspiring group to see people that are in a wide age range are still so active and vital and getting out there doing what they want to do.andamp;quot; says Roswick.
