Are icy and snowy roads changing your travel plans? Or maybe just what you're driving to get to your destination. Snowy and icy roads combined with falling andamp;lt;a href=andamp;quot;http://www.kxnet.com/t/gasoline-pricesandamp;quot; class=andamp;quot;kxInlineLinkandamp;quot;andamp;gt;Gas Pricesandamp;lt;/aandamp;gt; stir up the perfect combination for a rise in SUV and pick-up sales. And lately 4 wheel drive is almost becoming a necessity just to get around town. Wade Huber / Ressler Chevrolet: andamp;quot; We sold more trucks in the last two days, used trucks than we sold the previous two weeks probably. A huge increase in the last couple weeks for sure.andamp;quot; Wade Huber says at Ressler Chevrolet in the last 45 days alone their SUV and pick-up sales have increased by at least 40 percent. Huber says they sell more pick-upsbut SUV sales are the ones really increasing. Wade Huber / Ressler Chevrolet: andamp;quot; It's a good time to buy SUVs because it is supply and demand. Supply was up, demand was down, prices are down so it's a good time, so people are making that transition back to the SUVs again.andamp;quot; And it looks like that trend is carrying on to other dealerships too. Ryan Barth / Bill Barth Ford: andamp;quot; We have been selling quite a few trucks and SUVs around here for awhile. But once the snow started flying we have been sellin a lot less cars. Same amount of tucks and SUVs just less cars.andamp;quot; andamp;lt;a href=andamp;quot;http://www.kxnet.com/t/sarah-gustinandamp;quot; class=andamp;quot;kxInlineLinkandamp;quot;andamp;gt;Sarah Gustinandamp;lt;/aandamp;gt; / KX News: andamp;quot;Barth says that a hard winter increase there SUV sales by about 25 percent.andamp;quot; Ryan Barth / Bill Barth Ford: andamp;quot; They want something that will start for sure because with the cold weather there are alot of people coming in with vehicles not starting. Definitely the 4 wheel drive they complain about slipping and sliding around and the all wheel drive takes care of that a lot better than the 4 wheel drive actually.andamp;quot; And this increase might be here to stay. Wade Huber / Ressler Chevrolet: andamp;quot; We have had people say that I will never be without a 4 wheel drive again after driving their 4 wheel drive for the last week or so.andamp;quot; Both dealerships said in the last 45 days or early November was when they really started to see an increase in pick-up and SUV sales. « Less
