There was another fire in New Bedford. This one broke out in an abandoned building on Purchase Street around four this morning. Firefighters tell us this building is abandoned. No injuries have been reported. This fire follows a 2-alarm fire on Nye Street in the Whaling City, which broke out around 11:30 last night. The fire in the abandoned building spread to a building next door, forcing five families inside to evacuate. Everyone made it out safely. New Bedford firefighters tell us they have responded to nine alarms overnight.  « Less
