It's a strong yes vote for the Badlands Activity Center in Dickinson. The measure provides 6-million dollars in sales tax money to help build a Football stadium and convention center to replace Whitney Stadium. DSU has already raised around 10 million dollars for the activities center. Construction could start as early as December. Members with the Alumni Foundation say the yes vote is great news for the community. Kevin Thompson/Dickinson State University: We are very excited with the results of the election last evening. This is a huge shot in the arm for the Badlands Activity Center that will be created on the DSU campus that will benefit not only the Dickinson State campus but also the Dickinson community and the surrounding region for a multi purpose facility for football and track. Some opponents of measure one say they aren't taking the yes vote sitting down. Many argue the facility should not be paid for with city money. Jack Jackson with the Dickinson Watchdogs says they will investigate whether or not there was voter fraudor college students who voted but were not eligible.  « Less
