When a disaster strikes, you hope someone will help you out... Earlier this week Fire destroyed the Napoleon Drug Store and left the community wondering about the future. Brad Feldman is seeing first hand how the community is banding together. (Charlotte Young/ Owner, Napoleon Drug) I was going to start loading up things what I could but right then I heard a roar in the wall. So from there we pretty much left the building. And in just a matter of minutes...Napoleon's Main Street changed forever. (Sound - train horn and car) As quickly as the fire burned memories to the ground....neighbors rushed to help. (Charlotte Young/ Owner, Napoleon Drug) I know I have friends here but I didnt know how good of friends they really were. (Sound - crate) (Alvina Hamel/ Resident) Our community works together and that is what we need. (Sound- Good Morning Napoleon Drug.) This small town drug store gets a new start. (Sound- wiping shelf) Dakota Drug is a distribution company out of Fargo. They brought all the shelves... (Kathie Strehlow/ Dakota Drug) This has been amazing here. We have been stopped on the street corner and thanked for being here and helping out so quickly to get the store running again. (Sound - cart coming into the store) Crates of new items are being trucked in. However, its the hardwork of the community... working together to get THEIR drug store reopened. An even more important goal since this drug store is the only one in Logan County. (Charlotte Young/ Owner, Napoleon Drug) We have clinics, we have hospitals, we have a Nursing Home and the closest Pharmacy would be Bismarck. Wishek is thirty miles but they are another small town. (Alvina Hamel/ resident) You know were getting older and we cant drive to go and get it and its a lot easier to get it here. As each item finds a new place... (Sound- label going on shelf) Its a little closer to the new start this community needs and Young desires. (Charlotte Young/ Owner, Napoleon Drug) It means my whole life. Whatever I have been working for it's here. It means everything. In Napoleon Brad Feldman KX News Young says right away she started looking at ways to reopen the drug store. She says in many small towns...the biggest business is the drug store and pharmacy.  « Less
