The State Board of Higher education is considering the implementation of a deadline regarding the future of the University of North Dakota's Fighting Sioux nickname and logo. The NCAA has already set a deadline of November of 2010 for the school to gain support of the Sioux tribes in order to keep using the nickname and logo. One board member is suggesting a high-level committee be formed to talk with leaders of the state's two Sioux tribes. A conference call meeting of the Board has been scheduled for Thursday to discuss the issue.  « Less
