Sure you can find the answers to a lot of things on your computer...but do you know how to arrive at that answer on your own? A new service available to students can help you. Debbie Kuehn reports... In my book, A , B and X belong in an English classroom...and pie belongs on the kitchen table. So needless to say, when my kids bring home math homework, I'm no help. Where does that leave them when they get stuck? They used to have to wait to talk with their teacher...but now... You guessed it...they can turn to the computer. Not just to have it spit out the answer...but to talk with a real live tutor. (Katie Murtha, Minot Public Library) They'll be connected to a tutor and it will be a student driven. The student exlains their need, and the tutor prompts them and tries to help them arrive at an answer. These Jim Hill sixth graders are finding out that by simply logging on to www.minotlibrary.org and clicking on the Live Homework Help, they can chat with a tutor who will help them find the answer. Subjects include math, science, social studies and English. (Brianna Keel, Jim Hill 6th Grade) Right when I get home, my mom is the only one that's home, and she's not very good at math at all. (So this would come in handy for you in that respect.) (Katie) And it's a great resource not only for students but for parents because as a parent, I have an 11th grader and I can't help her with math! The passcode is magicians08.
