They've missed the playoffs the last two seasons and are coming off of a year where they had their worst record in franchise history... but the Bismarck Bobcats think they've found the pieces for the postseason puzzle...and it starts today. Scoring was a problem, but Head Coach Byron Pool says this year's mixture of newcomers and vets opens up some possibilities to put the puck in the net. The Cats are coming off a productive weekend, scoring nine times in their two exhibition wins against Alexandria. The league's showcase is right now. (Byron Pool:) Basically, I think the kids are ready to go and I think there will be a big part on me and Aaron (Kinslow) to make sure that we don't overplay guys early and that we get everybody - all 25 guys involved - because at the end of that showcase, when you have played four games in four nights, you have some tired legs. (Will Aide:) It is going to be a tough weekend and it is going to be pretty intense. You have scouts in the stands watching and everybody is nervous, but you have just gotta get that out of your head and think about the game and go out and work hard and good luck to us. The Bobcats are curently in progress at the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota. The U.S. National Development Team out of Michigan is their opposition in the opener.
