They're putting the fight against hunger and poverty in motion: fighting hunger one kit at a time. The 4th Annual Mission in Motion was held Saturday at the McCabe United Methodist Church in Bismarck. Churches from all over the western part of the state brought items for both the live and silent auctions. Registration started at 8:30 this morning and was followed by a service of dedication and lunch. The country market included garden products, baked goods, canned foods and small handmade items. Mission in Motion focuses on caring for the underprivileged and distressed. One project involves gathering sewing kits, health kits, school kits, and bedding packs. The kits are transported to a relief depot in Louisiana. We started with our youth group our boys and girls fellowship used to do the school kits and they were so excited knowing this was goign out to other kids who don't have anything, said Lois Ruff and Carol Guymar, who are volunteering. It's wonderful, that's why we call it mission in motion, because it is mission in motion, all around the world. Right, People doing and people receiving. The kits from Mission in Motion are given to people throughout the country and the world to provide relief to people in disaster areas.  « Less
