There's a new number one! After two straight years of sitting at the top of the AAA rankings, Fargo South is no longer in first. With the Bruins loss to Edina, Minnesota and Bismarck High's win over Fargo North, the Demons are NOW in front in the Football Polls. Not only did South's loss end their streak as the top team in the Class, but it also ended their 24 game winning streak. Bismarck High was the last team the Bruins beat, which was in last year's State Finals. Meanwhile, the Demons have now won one-in-a-row, with last week's 35-to-8 decision over North. (Tyler Karel:) We had a group of guys that worked in the offseason together and pretty much, a lot the varsity guys - we've been lifting together and running together and hanging out - just becoming better of a team. (Eric Klein:) We are hoping to have a good year, we have just got to take care of our own business and do our own thing and play hard and play 'Demon football' and that's what we have got to do and I think if we take care of our own business and work hard - we'll be fine. B-H-S received eight of the 12 'first place votes' while South received four. Century was picked fifth. Among those earning votes were St. Mary's and Dickinson. In Class 2A, Devils Lake is on top with Hazen on their heals. Despite dropping their opener, Dickinson Trinity cracked the top five. Beulah was one of three teams that received votes. For the rest of the year, these polls will come out on Monday Nights.  « Less
