Training an animal to listen and obey your every command can be downright difficult but the Humane Society is hoping to give horse owners a leg up on animal obedience. Dan Sumerel, also known as The Horse Whisperer is coming to Minot August 16th through the 18th for a horse course at JRC Stables. Sumerel is known internationally for his equine teaching techniques. The Minot Humane Society is sponsoring the event and hopes horse owners and enthusiasts take advantage of the unique opportunity... (Darla Yilniemi, Humane Society) I think it's beneficial and interesting I've used the methods on one of my horses that gives me problems and it does make a difference with her. And last year the example I keep using is there was a little girl there with a two year old horse, the first day the house could not stand still it was just a young horse and had so much energy. The last day that horse would come up and stand beside her with her nose on her chest for three minutes. This Horse Course does require preregistration.
