The state A legion baseball tournament will kick off tomorrow at 10 am at Corbett Field. The Minot Vistas will meet up with Williston at 7:45 tomorrow night in the final game of the day. The teams split their 6 games head to head this year and while the Vistas have already secured a spot in the central plains regional tournament, which starts next week also in Minot, the team doesn't just want to go to the tournament, they want to go into the tournament as the state representative. Todd Larson, Vistas coach:Our whole goal right now is to bring home that state title for 2008. We'll play that game by game and use whatever pitchers and sequences we have to. Yeah we got a spot in the central plains but we'd certainly like to earn our way there. Shane Gathman, right field:You don't want to come in being the host team you want to be the representative from North Dakota so that's what our goal is right now and we're gonna have some fun with it though.
