Minot's new baseball complex located on the west side of town was named today as part of dedication ceremonies. Minot resident, Jack Hoeven, recently made a major donation to the complex and like the Wee Links Golf course which is next door has been named in his honor. A total of 820,000 dollars has been raised for the project which has been in the works for the past three years. John Hoeven: Minot has no bigger fan than my dad and it's just the idea of getting young people involved, young people involved in golf, young people involved in baseball...because it can be such a big part of their life and not only having fun but that competition serves young people as they get up into other endeavors and so it's something very dear to my dads heart. Jack Hoeven: Competitive sports are very good for boys and girls, I can't think of anything that is better for them as they grow up because the values are all there and I think that's very important.  « Less
