A severe storm rolling across North Central North Dakota this afternoon spawned Tornado's that ripped through farm yards across cropland and even through part of the town of Rolla. At least two injuries have been reported. One was north of Belcourt when a man was pinned under his house. He was airlifted to Minot's Trinity Hospital for treatment, there's no word on his condition. Elsewhere in Rolla a tornado touched down in-town heavily damaging houses and property. Officials say the damage is extensive and widespread. ( Tom Allard, Rolla Police Chief ) The storm tracked from the International Peace Garden east to St. John. As the storm moved Tornados reportedly touched down many times, and stayed on the ground for several minutes at a time. Because the twisters were skipping off the landscape and literally were hit and miss along the storm tract officials in Rollette County are still trying to get a complete assessment of the damage. Governor John Hoeven is expected to tour the damaged areas tomorrow morning and another press conference is planned at 9 a.m. to give an update and a better assessment of the damage.  « Less
