The Painted Woods Golf Course in Washburn is a fun 9 hole course right off highway 83 on your way to Bismarck. This week, Lauren Shehadi takes us there On the Green. On the Green this week takes us to the Painted Woods Golf Course in Washburn, here with Nathan Grubb, Nathan, you were telling me earlier that this is a nine hole course but they are looking to expand. Nathan Grubb: That is correct, we recently purchased 120 acres of additional land for a proposed back nine expansion. Hole number five is a par five, it plays 440 yards from the white tees, 480 from the professional tees, typically you want to stay to the left side, the right side, you have water. Lauren Shehadi: Nathan, you were saying there is some winter kill on the green, is that remedied yet? Nathan: It is, earlier this spring, we did have a few greens that suffered but now it is all cleared up. Right now we are at about 145 yards to the pin, or actually to the front of the green, we have the wind to our back normally I would hit an eight iron from this distance but since we have the wind to our back, I'm going to hit a nine.
