How familiar are you with the words bygdelag and bygdebok? If you're familiar with Norwegian history you might recognize those words. If you're not well then you can look it up online like I did. But those words were prominent today in Minot where people with roots in Hallingdal, Norway were able to gather with their kin. This is the first time in the area that the public has been invited to mingle with the bygdelag organization. This year's theme was centered around getting to know your ancestors. (Jo Ann Winistorfer, Committee Chairman) Well what we're doing this year that's really different is having a genealogy workshop. This is the 101st anniversary of the Hollinglag, the 101st Stevna as they're called. SO we decided to have a genealogy workshop called Genealogy 101 Norse connections to tie in with 101. Tomorrow there will be a service held at the Gol Stave Church Museum at the Scandanavian Heritage Park.  « Less
