Hi, I'm Kristin Volk with a UPI Headline Update on this Wednesday, May 28, 2008. President Bush's former spokesman is speaking out against his ex-boss, saying Bush used propaganda to sell the Iraq war. McClellan made the statements in his book that's set for release on Monday. He also criticized the administration on its handling of Hurricane Katrina. The White House says they won't comment until they've seen the book. Israel's defense minister is calling on the country's prime minister, Ehud Olmert, to step down. This comes after an American businessman told an Israeli court yesterday that he gave Olmert cash-filled envelopes to reportedly cover campaign costs and personal expenses. The Prime Minister has denied that he took bribes and said the funds were campaign contributions. China has evacuated more than 160 thousand people amid threats of a flood. The evacuees lived downstream from an unstable earthquake-created lake that's swelling in central China. Soldiers and engineers are trying to drain the lake. The government has allocated more than $28 million to deal with the rising waters in the country. 28 out of 34 lakes created by the earthquake are reportedly at risk of bursting. Democratic lawyers say committee rules don't allow all of the Florida and Michigan delegates to be reseated, but only some. In a memo released yesterday, the party's legal experts say Democratic National Committee rules require that two states lose at least half of their convention delegates for holding elections too early. The Rules and Bylaws Committee plans to meet on Saturday in Washington to consider ways to include Florida and Michigan at the nominated convention in August.
