With both Democratic Presidential Candidates set to speak at the state Democratic-NPL convention in Grand Forks this weekend organizers are now expecting as many as 16 thousand people for the event. Free tickets for the convention have been made available at several locations around the state including one in Minot. Today at 3 p.m. John Erickson set up shop at the Cenex on 20th Avenue Southeast near KMart and was distributing the tickets to anyone who wanted one. Erickson says he's seen quite a bit of interest for this weekend's convention and many people have even been going online to print out their pass for the CLinton-Obama speeches. He says the convention is shaping up to be one for the books... (John Erickson, Volunteer) You know before she decided to come I think they were expecting ten to twelve thousand people, I think it's gone up significantly since then. Yeah I think they have a full slate of delegates a lot of young people especially just want to see him speak. If you would like a ticket you can contact John Erickson at 722-3338 or go online at www.demnpl.com. « Less
