Senator Barack Obama is coming to North Dakota... The Democratic Presidential candidate will be the keynote speaker at the Democratic convention in Grand Forks on Friday, April 4th. State Democractic Party Executive Director Jamie Selzler says Obama will draw more people and attention to the party and convention. (Jamie Selzler, ND Democratic Party Executive Director) Reporters come to the convention, spectators will come to hear him speak...and they'll associate Barack Obama, as popular as he is in North Dakota, with the Democratic NPL party and our statewide candidates and our legislative candidates. So when I talk about a big boost, it's associating ourselves with him that will be very successful for us. Selzler says recent polls show if Obama ran against Senator John McCain for president todayObama would win in North Dakota. He says Obama is giving North Dakota the boost to become a blue state. « Less
