Hello, I'm Rebecca Field with today's UPI entertainment update on this Wednesday, March 12, 2008. Britney Spears is animated in her new music video. The pop star is shown as a futuristic anime superhero in the video for her song Break the Ice. The song is off her album Breakout. A British newspaper says Spears came up with the idea herself and thought it would be a fun way to do her new video. Friends of the singer say she's ready for a serious comeback. Janet Jackson is recovering from the flu. Sources says the singer was apparently taken to an L.A. hospital earlier this week for shortness of breath. Her rep says she'll be fine and just has the flu. Now she's reportedly trying to rest up and get better. Jackson has reportedly cancelled this weekend's appearance on Saturday Night Live. Paris HIlton and rocker Benji Madden now have matching rings. The rocker was seen around town wearing a glittery ring with the initials PH....possibly for his new reported love interest Paris Hilton. Over the weekend the hotel heiress was seen with her own glittery ring...with his initials BH. The two have reportedly been dating a couple weeks now. Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey is making a difference in the real world of medicine. The actor, known for his role as Dr. McDreamy on the show, is opening up a cancer center in Maine. The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing is a place where cancer patients and their family can get information about the disease and support. He's reportedly opening the clinic in honor of his mother who is now in remission from ovarian cancer. It's set to open March 31. Nick Lachey is working on a new MTV reality series. Hollywood Reporter says the singer is producing a pilot for what the network calls a reality version of the film and TV show Fame. The series, which hasn't been named yet, will apparently focus on the lives of students at the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Ohio...the same school Lachey once attended.
