Of the eight teams competing in the Class A boys Basketball tournament, Dickinson High has a chance to do something the other seven can't...and that's repeat as State Champions. The Midgets beat Bismarck High for the title last year and this year, Dickinson has another solid squad. D-H-S wrapped up the regular season as the number five ranked team in the state and they hope to wrap up the postseason as the top team. (Jake Bauer:) People looked at us and saw that we lost a lot of seniors and saw that we were a little inexperienced, but along with that, we also have eight guys returning that were on that state championship team, so we still have a lot of experience from last year. (Taylor Bruhschwein:) I mean, we have some pressure. A lot of people didn't think we'd be as good as last year, just because of all the people that we lost, but we definetly do have a target on us as the State Champions - no matter how many people you lose. (Dean Winczewski:) We have to do what we've done all year and run our motion offense, play together as a team, make sure we are getting each other open and try to get to the basket as much as we can and try to get the shooters open and ready when we get the chance. Dickinson will face Fargo North in the quarterfinals tomorrow. Other games in the boy's bracket include Bismarck against Wahpeton, Williston against West Fargo and Minot and Fargo South.  « Less
