Serbian president Boris Tadic on Wednesday urged Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica to stop obstructing the country's state institutions in a damaging political rift over European Union integration. Meanwhile, in Kosovo, preparations are gathering pace for a declaration of independence. The Kosovan Prime Minister has appealed to Serbs to stay in Kosovo after it declares independence. But losing the breakaway province would be inconceivable for the vast majority of Serbs - many consider it to be the cradle of their culture and their religion.
