There's been an overwhelming response from the public to help Mandan residents without heat. Hundreds of electric space heaters have been donated. The Mandan Fire Department has become the distribution center for the heaters. Heater donations have come from Lowe's, Home Depot, and residents throughout the region. Mandan Firefighter Tom Heid says people have been very generous during this time... (Tom Heid, Mandan Firefighter) "They just put themselves into the same situation and they know that they would like one if they were in this situation also." Heid also says firefighters are bringing heaters to people who are homebound. The distribution center will continue to stay open until all Mandan residents have their heat on again. The heaters are tagged so they can be given back to the owner. « Less
