A resident of southern Ward County appeared before commissioners today, asking they not re-appoint the chairman of the Ward County Water Resource Board when his term expires at the end of the year. Brent Johnson accused water board chairman Maurice morris Foley of unprofessional conduct and mistreatment of him in a matter that he says had no business being handled by the water board. (Brent Johnson, Ward County) With every letter, phone call, or meeting with Maurice Foley or the water board, tensions grew and got completely out of hand. I found Mr. Foley to be very inconsiderate and I felt I was treated unfairly. Commissioner Jerome Gruenberg wondered what the county board's role in such a complaint would be. But Commissioner Jim Lee said it was appropriate input to help the board decide if Foley should be re-appointed. (Jim Lee, Ward Co. Commissioner) I think what we're having happen here this morning is Mr. Johnson is making a complaint that he has about one of the managers and he says because of that this individual doesn't deserve re-appointment. So in that aspect, him bringing it here is 100% appropriate. Foley recently appeared before the county commission, complaining that interference by Jim Lee in water board business forced Roger Kluck to resign. Foley's term on the Water Resource Board expires at the end of December.  « Less
