The top ranked Minot Ryan Lions boys Basketball team gets to try out its number one ranking tomorrow when the team travels to Dunseith to take on the Dragons. The Lions kicked off their season on Saturday with a win over Rugby on Saturday. Despite a season opening loss to MLS, the Dragons did receive some votes in the first Poll of the year and tomorrow's game will be a rematch of last year's regional championship. Scott Medalen, Ryan boys basketball coach:They got two big twin towers in the middle, Riley Decouteau and John Gunville. Two big kids, physical kids at 6'8 and 6'6 in the middle there so I think they plan their game around those two, try and push it inside if they can. I do think they have some perimeter people too that can fill it up so we're gonna have to be at our best defensively. Both teams are supposed to do well in the district and kind of contend for the region title. You know certainly for us being on the road it's a big game early but we're excited about being able to go up there and we can hopefully perform well. D.J. Allard, senior:It's definitely a big game playing for a region championship. A lot of people say that's gonna be us again in the region championship this year maybe even so it's a good early game to see where we stand in the region.
