The Colombian government has released video showing 16 hostages, including a former presidential candidate, the Colombian-French national Ingrid Betancourt, and three Americans. Five videos taken from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) are the first firm evidence since 2003 that Betancourt and the Americans, contractors for the US State Department, are still alive.
