The Class B Basketball season will soon begin, including for the girls at Wing. After years of co-oping with Steele-Dawson, the Wildcats played a junior varsity schedule last year, and now this year, they'll compete at the varsity level and they'll do so with a new coach. Former WTPR boys coach Jim Petrik steps in this season. Its his second year as a head coach. He played hoops at Shiloh, Bismarck State and U-Mary, so he intends to use what he learned from all three of those programs. (Jim Petrik:) There is going to be a lot of room for improvement and the future is bright, we hold our own destiny here at Wing and the harder we work, the better we'll be and I like our chances. Petrik and the rest of the Wildcats are scheduled to open up the season on Tuesday, on the road, at Drake-Anamoose.  « Less
