The head of Bangladesh's emergency government said Tuesday the country was facing a national crisis due to "unimaginable" destruction caused by last week's cyclone. Around four million people had been affected by cyclone Sidr and officials have said more than 3,400 people have died but the Red Crescent said it expected the final death toll to be between 5,000 and 10,000. Cyclone Sidr crashed into the country's southern coast from the Bay of Bengal last Thursday evening before ripping through southern and central districts. « Less
