The Minot Skyrockets kick off their second season tomorrow night when they travel to Butte for back to back games there. The Skyrockets have pared their roster down to 10 with only one returning player off of last year's team. Head coach Chris Daleo says his team will start the season with more veterans than last year and will have decent size especially with the signing of John Strickland yesterday. Chris Daleo, Skyrockets coach:We have a veteran team. Kevin Rice, Field, Cory Hightower, Darius Mattear, you know all those guys are CBA veterans. It was easier for me this year because I had so many veterans call me. We've gone bigger all around the perimeter so I've gone bigger at my point guard, I've gone a little shorter at my center but we'll get through it. Kevin Rice, Skyrockets guard:I was kind of excited about playing with them instead of playing against them. So its better that we have a couple of vets. We got four or five vets and that's pretty good going into the CBA which is known for having a lot of vets in the league period. Ronnie Fields, Skyrockets guard:That was one of the big things, pretty much brought in Strickland, vet, knows how to play low post scorer then we brought in some other guys to surround him with. The thing is it's just pretty much getting everyone on the same page. You know how it is when you first start. So just try to get everybody acclamated to what we do.  « Less
