There's certainly nothing funny or sweet about cancer. Most of us know know someone who's struggled with the disease. But sometimes, laughter can be a good medicine. And today, when our own weather guru Joe Goldade squared off against the prognosticator from KMOT at Marketplace Foods, there were plenty of laughs. The guys had ten minutes to decorate their own cakes using pink and green frosting. Trinity Hospital spokesperson Amy Moen says the event was designed to bring awareness to a sometimes sticky topic. (Amy Moen, Trinity) But we need to do things that make people become more aware of it and if that's how we draw people in and they can walk around and look at the cancer booths to see what's available,...Cancer doesn't mean end of life. There are cures for cancer and there's preventative measures that people can be taking and that's what we want them to be aware of. Moen says all funds raised from the cancer awareness events stay in the local community.  « Less
