Many prestigious people were in Minot this week to take part in the festivals and cermonies of the Hostfest. This year, one of our heros from World War 2 was here. He is 87 year old Harold K. Hanson, who lives in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Harold was part of the Norwegian American Ski-Troopers of the 99th Infantry Division. The soldiers were trained to survive in the harshest of conditions. Harold says they were well prepared for everything they encountered. Harold Hanson, Ski Trooper, we had wonderful equipment, good pup tents for cold weather and we kept our boots inside so they wouldnt freeze we were nice and warm. Back in 1989, the 99th infantry was put into the Scandinavian Hall of Fame, during the Norsk Hostfest.  « Less
