Pure Honda has been in business nearly 4 years, and located here on 20 Avenue. Owners are Laverne Berg, his sons Jeremy and Keith Braunberger. Pure Honda is planning to move, to this spot west of Gooseneck Implement at 1520 on the East Highway 2 bypass. Here's a rendering what the new building will look like. Bids will be accepted this year, and construction will begin in the spring. They tell us they need more room for employees and inventory. At the new location, they will have 28 acres, so customers will have the chance to try out the motorcycles. A Williston family business for 97 years, spanning 4 generations, has changed hands. Stockman's Motors, the Ford dealership, is now owned by Ed Steckler and Jerry Schmidt. Steckler lives in Minot and in fact has been very active in the community in Minot. He says they plan to change the Stockman's name by the first of the year. He says he is excited about the opportunities of this dealership especially with the good economic climate in Williston. The Holiday Inn is getting a facelift. The renovation work on the exterior should be complete by mid-October. They are replacing the stucco and adding new windows and window sills. Ringoen Financial group has added a third financial adviser. Todd Ringoen says Minot native Blake Hanson has joined the company. Their location is 615 South Broadway. Along Highway 5 near the Sky Dancer Casino at Belcourt, a new business opened a couple of months ago...the Turtle Mountain Fleet Farm. Locally owned by Rich and Vicki Parisien, the fleet farm has hardware, paint supplies, sporting goods, automotive, lawn and garden, farm and ranch supplies and more. In Surrey, is where you'll find The Quilter's Cottage. Roberta Flannigan used to have her business in Minot, before moving out to Surrey. She does long arm machine quilting, meaning she can draw designs with the needle. Plus, people bring their quilt tops to her, and she finishes them. She has been sewing and quilting since she was a young girl. (Roberta Flannigan, The Quilter's Cottage) It came naturally, it's just a different machine and it takes a little practice.
