that doesn't mean a happy ending... and--an iconic action star returns to the big screen. plus--a drama about revenge against a corrupt politician. mr. moviefone has the week off, but here's a preview of this week's new releases in this "now showing" report.. two young sisters lose their parents and disappear all on the same day. years later they are found - but that's just where the story begins. "mama" is a thriller about the terrifying happenings that occur when the girls move into their relatives home. "mama" is rated pg-13. ah- nuld is back! in "the last stand" - arnold schwarzenegger plays lawman ray owens who has left los angeles for a more peaceful small- town existence. that's all shattered when a drug kingpin escapes federal custody - and owens and his modest police force are the only thing preventing the villian from slipping over the u-s mexican border. "the last stand" is rated r in a city teeming with corruption - mark wahlberg plays an ex-police officer looking for revenge against the man who double- crossed him. unfortunately that man is the town's mayor and most powerful figure - played by russell crowe. that's the plot of "the broken city" - which also features catherine zeta jones. the film is rated r. for now showing, i'm carl azuz chattanooga plays host to a big basketball game tonight. the harlem globetrotters bring their unique style of play to town! the globetrotters take on the generals at u-t-c mckenzie arena at 7:00pm. this years game features fan voting to determine how the rules of tonight's game. a spectacular wildlife event takes place in the tennessee valley saturday and sunday... as the annual sandhill crane migration brings hundreds of birds to hamilton and meigs county. the tennessee sandhill crane festival runs from 8:00am to 5:00pm both days, with shuttles running from birchwood elementary school. and a new exhibit roars into the creative discovery museum saturday. dinosaurs: land of fire and ice utilizes new research to create distinct dinosaur environments. the exhibit runs through may 12th. the atlanta falcons have been atop the n- f-c standings all year. now they get to prove their the best team in the n-f-c, as they face the niners in the division championship game on sunday. matt ryan notched his first career playoff win last week. talk about a big relief. "i think it's a good thing to get that first win out of the way for sure because there's a lot of other things. lot of other questions that you have to answer that can be distracting." most all of the questions this week center around san francisco quarterback colin kaepernick. "i think he is probably closer to cam newton because of his size and stature. he's a big tall guy. and once he gets going, he's hard to catch." niners pack more than a kaepernick punch. they have the third best defense in the n- f-l. "when you turn on the film, you see a really good defense. they are solid. six pro-bowlers on defense. guys that are extremely talented." on their defensive line, i've been very impressed with their 3-4 front seven." atlanta's rushing offense has struggled at times, finishing 29th in the n-f-l. but they may need to find some running lanes against the niners defense. "it's going to be important for us to be efficient on the offensive side of the football. and not give their offense opportunities and snaps to try to score." again, the 49ners take on the falcons this sunday, the 20th at 3pm eastern standard time at the georgia dome. the game will air on fox. up next...traffic and weather together plus a look at your local news..  « Less
