Tribal leaders are gathering in Bismarck this week to talk about issues like law enforcement, renewable energy, education and many others. The North Dakota Tribal Leaders and Tribal Councils Summit runs through Thursday. Speakers are to include Winona LaDuke, a former vice presidential candidate who ran with Ralph Nader, and Cal Artman, the federal assistant secretary for Indian Affairs. The meeting will be followed by the powwow this weekend at United Tribes Technical College.  « Less
