She was named world's greatest mom by her five sons, but Margie Zietz received another great award recently for her work as a police officer. Sergeant Margie Zietz of the Minot Police Department has been in law enforcement for around 25-years now and was recently given the Peace Officer of the Year Award for the state of North Dakota... (Sgt. Margie Zietz, Minot Police Dept.) The personal commitment just reassures me that this is where I need to be and this is the years ahead until I retire i want to make the best of everything. Know that no matter what you do in life whether it be working as a police officer or working as a cub scout leader that you don't need a plaque to tell you you're doing a good job either. It's great to have that pat on the back and I don't want to take anything away from the award but I think we all just need to be reassured that even if we don't ever see an award, you can strive for it, but even if you don't ever see that total accomplishment you have to know in yourself and in your heart that you have accomplished no matter if you're recognized or not for it. The Peace Officer of the Year award is the highest award given out to North Dakota Police Officers, and most of Margie's family was brought in to surprise her at the ceremony.  « Less
