The 'Clown Price of Basketball' himself is in Bismarck. But he's doing much more than shooting hoops while he's here. Meadowlark Lemon played for the Harlem Globetrotters for 22 years. Today, he's a born-again Christian and ordained minister. Meadowlark spoke this morning at New Song Community Church in Bismarck. Through his own ministry, he's spreading the message of hope... particularly to our youth and young athletes. He also spends a good amount of time encouraging kids against crime and addressing poverty. Meadowlark says hope and faith has brought him to where he is today. (Meadowlark Lemon, Former Harlem Globetrotter): I don't do anything without prayer... going into prayer first. And if I miss it, I'll apologize and start back all over again. So, it's the main function of my life. He's the core... the center of my life. Beginning tomorrow, Meadowlark will be speaking with and playing a little ball with a couple hundred kids at a regional christian basketball camp taking place in Bismarck. Through his ministry, he says he takes part in about 20 youth basketball camps each year and speaks at about 150 locations across the nation.... including churches, businesses and youth prisons.
